A few of the showhouse’s landscape designers —Lucinda Bray and Tyne Martinez of Floralis Garden Design and Tim Gartland and Anthony Donofrio of Hamilton Land Services—will create container displays in various styles. These experts will discuss plant selection and composition, demonstrate techniques and answer questions to help you achieve long-lasting and stunning results at home.

Interior design power couple Phoebe and Jim Howard have been designing beautiful homes for decades. Enjoy entertaining banter about their latest finds, the color blue and their latest projects, as well as concrete design and styling tips to take home. After the talk, Phoebe will sign copies of her latest book, Coastal Blues: Mrs. Howard’s Guide to Decorating with the Colors of the Sea and Sky.
When the Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo collide, it’s time to celebrate with Southern style. Atlanta’s own Les Dames d’Escoffier —an organization of Atlanta’s top female leaders in food, beverage and hospitality—have planned a full day of revelry featuring some of Atlanta’s finest culinary talent. They’ll share tastes and tricks of the trade with guests during lively presentations throughout the day.
Georgia’s garden history is rich with the influence of many, including storied designers like J. Neel Reid, Philip Trammel Shutze and the Olmsted Brothers. Staci L. Catron and Mary Ann Eaddy, authors of Seeking Eden: A Collection of Georgia’s Historic Gardens, will share the stories of some of Georgia’s most fascinating historic landscapes, public and private. Following their talk, Catron and Eaddy will sign copies of their book.
Atlanta History Center’s Sarah Roberts is a gardening expert who oversees the celebrated Goizueta Gardens, including Olguita’s Garden, which opens this spring as the first major botanical addition to the History Center campus in more than 30 years. Join Roberts to gain a broader understanding of Atlanta’s heritage from a horticultural perspective. Following her talk, she will lead an informal walking tour through the showhouse’s four featured garden spaces.
Celebrated designer Matthew Quinn of Design Galleria Kitchen & Bath Studio and interior designer Karen Ferguson of Harrison Design reveal the freshest trends in kitchen design, and unveil fresh-for-spring entertaining ideas in the area where everyone wants to congregate--the kitchen! Chef George of SubZero-Wolf will provide light bites you can prepare at home. Lecture is free with General Admission ticket.
Award-winning artist, floral designer and entertaining guru Cathy Graham has a deliberately offhand sense of beauty. Known for her renowned dinner parties, magnificent table settings and whimsical signature style, Graham will share her entertaining essentials and how to incorporate personal style when designing memorable events. After her presentation, Graham will sign copies of her book, Second Bloom: Cathy Graham’s Art of the Table.
